University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore and University of Health Sciences (UHS) have agreed to develop a joint strategy for conducting online entry test for Admissions to Medical & dental colleges of Punjab MDCAT for session 2020. Vice-Chancellor UET, Dr. Mansoor Sarwar arrived at UHS and held a meeting with Vice-Chancellor UHS Prof. Javed Akram, Senior Staff, and Faculty members.
Dr. Mansoor Sarwar said UET will carry out an online entry test this year due to Corona. ECAT is conducted in collaboration with Virtual University. According to Dr. Mansoor Sarwar, 33,000 candidates would offer ECAT on computers instead of exam copies. A mock test for the candidate’s practice will also be conducted before the actual ECAT at the end of this month.
Rof Javed Akram said that we would benefit from the experience of UET in conducting MDCAT online for admission to med colleges. In this respect, both universities should establish a shared strategy. Prof. Javed Akram said 80,000 candidates are expected to take part in the MDCAT program. Conducting an entrance exam for enrollment in educational institutions is a legal necessity. In view of Corona, the safety of the candidates is the first priority, said Prof. Javed Akram.
The two universities have decided that the Entrance Test Question JJBank would be used jointly. VC UHS said it would seek approval from HEC for a Joint Online Entrance Test Strategy. Prof. Javed Akram said Punjab University will also be a part of this project. Specific entry check SOPs should be maintained with Corona in mind. Supervising staff will provide inspection of the corona.
