All educational institutes in selected districts to be closed till 11th April

Shafqat Mahmood chairs NCOC meeting

Wednesday, 24 March 2021: Federal Minister of Education, Shafqat Mahmood has announced that all educational institutes in selected institutes to be closed till 11th April 2021.

Earlier, today, an important meeting, headed by Federal Minister, of the Federal and Provincial Ministers of Education and Health was held in NCOC to review the situation arising in view of the third wave of Corona. Senior officials from the Department of Education and Health also participated.

After the meeting, Shafqat Mahmood in a press conference, said that in wake of the rising COVID-19 cases in the country, educational institutes in the selected cities to be closed. Shafqat Mehmood further, said the selected cities to be decided by the Provincial governments.

The Punjab School Education Minister, Dr. Murad Raas tweeted:

“All Public & Private schools of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargoda, Sheikhupura will remain closed till April 11th, 2021. The remaining Districts will be open on previous schedule.”

Regarding the Cambridge Exams, Shafqat Mahmood said that a meeting will be held with Cambridge administration and current situation. And he said, this year no one will be promoted, the Boards Exams will be held per schedule.
