LUMS NOP 2020
NOP which stands for National Outreach Program is a noble initiative taken by Lahore University of Management Sciences to provide quality education to the talented but financial deprived students. The program was started in 2001 and since then, it has inducted more than 1200 scholars to transform them from financially unstable students to skilled professionals which are now serving at every level of Pakistan. LUMS has already started its inductions for NOP program and the intermediate students who are in their first year of students can apply for the program.
The application process is comprised of four steps which are entailed below:
Step 1: NOP Application
Students having more than 80% marks in matriculation or equivalent marks in O-Levels and now studying in first year or 11th standard can apply at the official website at:
After initial screening and assessment of the financial need, the candidates will be called for summer coaching session in their vacation exactly after the board examinations.
Step 2: Coaching Classes at LUMS
The shortlisted candidates would attend two-week summer coaching at LUMS which will assess them through various activities and assessments. The top candidates from these coaching sessions will then be appear in SAT examination.
Step 3: Fully Funded SAT
Successful candidates will then be required to take SAT I (Scholastic Assessment Test) which currently costs $64.5 (with Essay) and some programs (School of Science and Engineering) also require candidates to take ‘Subject Tests’ which cost $18 per subject.
For those students who aced the coaching sessions, these test fees will entirely be paid by LUMS on behalf of the candidates and the candidates will not be required to pay a single penny for SAT.
Step 4: Final Selection
The candidates will apply to LUMS by filling the admissions forms to compete on merit with other candidates. The candidates making it to the merit list will be admitted to LUMS as NOP Scholar and will be given fully funded education with a monthly stipend that will be enough for the scholars to meet their expenses.
