Schools in different cities of Punjab to be closed from 15th March

Wednesday, 3rd March 2021: Government announces closure of educational institutions in various cities for 2 weeks in view of rising Corona epidemic

An NCOC meeting was held today, under the chairmanship of Federal Minister, Shafqat Mahmood. The meeting reviewed the situation arising out of the increasing cases of Corona across the country. Senior officials from the education department and health department also attended the meeting

The schools in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Gujarat, Multan, Rawalpindi, Sialkot and Peshawar have been closed for two weeks, starting from Monday, March 15. All educational institutions will reopen on March 28. Institutions. And the schools where examinations are taking place will continue as per schedule.

After the meeting, the Provincial Minister for School Education, Punjab, Dr Murad Raas, tweeted that all public and private schools of Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Rawalpindi, Multan, Sialkot will be closed from March 15th, 2021 to March 28th, 2021. He termed these holidays as spring holidays. All Public and Private schools in rest of the Districts will follow a regular schedule.

This is the third time schools have been closed due to COVID. Last year, on March 13, the academic institutions were closed. Then on November,26 all the academic activities were suspended.
